• As reported previously on Bricks and Clicks and elsewhere throughout the SAME family of publications, the SAME Board of Direction recently approved new membership dues structures, effective Jan. 1, for uniformed service members and military civilian employees. (The details of the new structures can be reviewed and commented upon at the SAME LinkedIn group.) Active military personnel joining SAME for the first time will be charged a one-time fee of $60 granting them membership in SAME for the duration of their military service. DOD civilian employees have the option of a three-year ($45) or five-year ($60) membership. The new membership form is now available on the SAME homepage, so join today!
• Registration is now open for the SAME Student Leaders Workshop, which will be held March 4-5, 2010, in Grapevine, Texas, in conjunction with the Winter Post Leaders Workshop. Leaders of Posts that sponsor Student Chapters are encouraged to consider nominating a student leader to attend the workshop. Posts will be responsible for travel costs for student leaders, while SAME HQ will assume lodging and meal costs. • SAME HQ is currently conducting a search for candidates to fill the recently-created position of SAME Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to the Executive Director, the COO will otherwise operate independent of the SAME HQ corporate structure and will be primarily responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the society’s expanding professional development programs. • Registration for the upcoming SAME Small Business Conference closes ONE WEEK FROM TODAY on Friday, Nov. 20.
